It might be a little bit hard to believe- but this was a VERY low budget wedding! The bouquets, bouttonieres, and the dog crown were all made by us of course- but Jenna (our bride) and Alex were very conscious about their budget. They opted to get Costco Garland- which is $99 for 25 feet!? That’s cheaper than I can get it!? And then we just plugged in the flowers of her choice on site. Jenna opted for babies breath and white roses, also from Costco.
This was the first time I had done this- and it was definitely an experiment. I can say that the roses from Costco were… not good. They were incredibly bruised, super tight, and not healthy at all. Had I received them from my wholesaler- I would have thrown them out and demanded a refund! But the garland was surprisingly nice! The downside about Costco garland is you don’t get a choice of the greenery- and it sheds. A lot. So the only option Costco has is a garland that is THICK and luscious- but very tropical looking. Here’s the link to what she got
This was a very unique situation- I was conscious of Jenna + Alex’s financial situation- so the garland was shipped to me and I stored it in my cooler until it was ready. Had it been shipped to the couple and they set everything up- it very likely would have been dead. I wouldn’t recommend doing this without consulting your florist!
Venue was the Martin Johnson House in La Jolla
